Alegria Grande is the big brother of Alegria. Its a 10ply/Worsted/Aran weight yarn with a blend of a blend of 75% Superwash Merino, 25% Polyamide. It is a fantastic yarn for blankets, thicker socks as well as garments and accessories. 

Socks can be knit out of almost any yarn from super fine 2ply lace socks through to 10ply cosy bed socks, I’ve even seen 20ply slipper socks. There is however yarn that is specifically designed for socks.
