Love Note by Tin Can Knits
This is a true cult pattern with 1000's of knitters around the world having at least one in their wardrobe. The simple lace detail adds an elegant touch to a classic sweater that can be worn over a dress or with a pair of jean. It also has sizes for baby to adult so the whole family can have one!
Knit on 6mm needles the yarn options for this are endless, from laceweight and mohair right up to an 8-10ply yarn will work!
On of our top choices is to use Rowan Kidsilk Haze. The ever-popular mohair silk blend yarn will give your Love Note a luxurious halo. It can be used held double or with another 2 or 4ply yarn depending on the weight of jumper you want to create!
Another great option is to use Manos Marina. Holding this yarn double really does make for a stunning lightweight garment. The subtle hand-dyed shades blend together to give a gentle marl to your knits.

Agnes Sweater Vest by Bethany Lynne
This free pattern is a great one to use scraps and express your style. All colours of yarn can be used to create the granny squares to make a truly unique piece!
One great choice for this vest is Avalon 10ply 100% pima cotton yarn. Avalon will make a more transeasonal vest perfect for wearing year round. It has a matte finish and is available in an array of gemstone shades that will really shine once crocheted into granny squares.
Our second choice for the Agnes is Estate 10ply. This classic yarn will make a stunning vest. Coming in a huge range of colours will give endless options to your project! Its crisp finish will also give a really clean finish to your granny squares.

This is the January pattern for a 2023 Yearlong Bookmark CAL. Needing just 14-23m this really is perfect for those scraps! Made with 8ply yarn means it would also work well with any leftover 4ply sock yarn held double! We cant wait to see what future patterns are in the CAL! A really fun yarn option for this bookmark is Morris Quartet. It is a fun kaleidoscopic yarn which will give interesting colours to your bookmark. If you make a few for gifts they will all come out looking different! |
Another great choice is Manos Alegria, held double. Alegria will give subtle variations in colour like the bookmark pictured. You will also have enough yarn to make a pair of socks once you've finished.
