Wednesdays Wrap Up- Sophie Scarf, Choose Your Gnome Adventure & Autumn Swirl Blanket
Here are our favourite patterns this week. We are continuing to make Christmas decorations and loving these choose your own adventure gnomes that we can customise. We are also thinking of some last minute gift knits that we can still make and the Sophie Scarf is just that! After all of the gift knitting we want to have our own project planned to work on during the holidays and the Autumn Swirl Blanket is high up on our list of things to make for ourselves.
Just a reminder that the patterns are not available on our site so will need to be purchased and/or downloaded from elsewhere but we will provide a link. If you need more assistance with yarn choices or quantities please contact one of our stores where our helpful and knowledgeable staff will be on hand!
Sophie Scarf by Petite Knit
The Sophie Scarf is worked back and forth in one piece, from tip to tip in garter stitch with built-in i-cord edges. It is the perfect project to spoil yourself with a ball or two of that luxurious yarn you have been wanting to try. There are two size available, the smaller size wraps around the neck once, while the larger size can wrap around the neck twice.
Lana Gatto Prestige Cashmere is the yarn we will be making a Sophie Scarf with! The ultimate luxury, this 100% cashmere yarn is sure to delight. The Sophie Scarf is the perfect project to knit with Lana Gatto Prestige as it will be so soft and silky worn around your neck.
Another great, transeasonal option is Rowan Cotton Cashmere. Combining spectacular stitch definition with a soft feel, Cotton Cashmere is a rich blend of 85% cotton and 15% cashmere. It's available in soft tonal shades and you will easily want to make a few Sophie Scarves to go with your whole wardrobe.

Choose Your Gnome Adventure by Sarah Schira
Gnorton is an international gnome of mystery, with multiple looks and passports. He’s a master of disguise, accent, and quick-change. It’s Choose Your Gnome Adventure - a special gnome adventure all your own!
Included in this pattern are multiple options: 5 hat options, 5 body options, 2 noses, 3 beards, and 2 arm designs! There is also height, yardage, needle size, and gauge info for 4ply, 10ply, and 12-14ply yarns.
Morris Estate 4ply is our natural top choice for knitting these gnomes because of its stunning array of colours. You will find the perfect shades for both the bodies and clothing for the gnomes.
Morris Maya 14ply is perfect for the Bulky versions of the gnomes. It is Spun from 100% baby alpaca and will give a slight halo that will add to the gnome's charm. There are great neutral shades as well as brighter accent colours to choose from.

Autumn Swirl Blanket by Mallory Krall
The Autumn Swirl Blanket features
a motif that brings something special to what would otherwise be just a simple granny square project. By working solid-coloured motifs in each section the result comes together to form a swirling afghan. You can work the motifs up individually and seam them together later for easy on-the-go-travel OR work them up join-as-you-go style. Finish with a simple single crochet border all around and fun tassels in each corner.
Manos Maxima is our top choice for this blanket. Super-soft merino fibre and a light single-ply construction make Maxima a cuddly yarn that is perfect for any blanket. There are many beautiful semi-solid shades that you can combine for your perfect colour palette.
Given we are approaching Summer, we love the idea of this blanket crocheted out of Morris Avalon 10ply. Spun from 100% pima cotton, a soft & strong cotton, Avalon has a matte finish and is perfect for spring and summer blankets.
