Explore Handmade Creations with Morris and Sons Yarn

Every month, we showcase a few talented crafters from  our Instagram community who’ve shared their unique creations using  Morris and Sons yarn.

We have created this blog to not only display their exceptional skills but also the special touches that make their projects truly shine.

Taylor used Empire 8 Ply Merino in ‘Blackheath’ and ‘Columbine’ to create this gorgeous cardigan, with the ‘Eternal Seasons Cardigan’ crochet pattern by @juuulmakes.

“My Project is special to me because it was the first time I put buttons on a crochet piece and learning how to sew buttons was really fun! I chose to use my favourite colour combination of a musky pink and green which I think go together perfectly!”

Bex knitted this spectacular sweater using a vintage 1950s Knit-O-Graf pattern and Morris Estate 4 ply in ‘Chocolate Canopy’ and ‘Latte’.

"This project is really special because my partner actually asked for it. I love knitting for someone when they ask for something unique and special. This project involved completely regraphing and redrawing the pattern out a finer gauge (lots of hours on the computer) - but the effort was totally worth it!”

Annette attended the Pony McRate Cushion of Many Cats workshop at the Morris and Sons Melbourne store. She created her own Cat Cushion using Morris Estate 8 Ply Yarn.

“I put my own two cats, Ned and Myrtle, into the cushion and also Cherry who belongs to my son’s partner. I will give the cushion to her as she shares my love of cats".

Lucretia made this darling fluffy duck using Manos Del Uraguay Serena yarn, Rowan Kidsilk Haze in ‘Natural’, ‘Cream’ and ‘Bark’ and Patons Bluebell Merino in ‘Yellow’, all stocked at Morris and Sons. Can you believe she is a beginner knitter? Her Jemima Puddle Duck from ‘Knitting Peter Rabbit’ book by @dotpebbles_knits.

'Holding 1 thread of alpaca blend yarn and 2 threads of mohair together allowed me to achieve this extra soft, fluffy, cuddly and realistic look. This yarn combination is super smooth and surprisingly easy to work with - the process is just as enjoyable as the product!’

Nicolette used the Rowan Felted Tweed in Cumin to knit the 'Summer League Cutoff' Sweater, beautiful as it is stylish!

“This project is special because a few months back I had coincidentally bought fabric that exactly matched the colours of this yarn. After the knitting the sweater and sewing the skirt, the result was a uniquely colour-coordinated handmade outfit. I think it shows the type of warm tones I consistently gravitate towards in both knitting and sewing projects. It's a wonderful occurrence because each handmade items fits in nicely with the rest of my wardrobe”.

To keep the knit-spiration flowing, we’re giving away a $100 voucher every month. Share your finished project using Morris and Sons yarn and tag us on Instagram @morrisandsons to enter our contests!

Your creativity and talent never fail to amaze us! We can’t wait to see what you create next!
