Instagram Inspiration with our Morris and Sons Yarn: September
Our Morris and Sons community never ceases to inspire! For the month of September, we showcased the incredible work of a few talented crafters from our Instagram family, all using Morris and Sons yarn.
Read all about their beautiful projects and the unique details that make each one truly special.
Annabelle (@drummrollknitwear) created her own Koala vest knitting patterns for Spring! Using our Morris Estate 4ply she made the 'Koala Mama Vest'. Read more about her Koala Vests here.
The talented Narrelle, known as @northmountainfibrearts, crafted this stunning shawl using our Zauberball Stärke yarn, just in time for spring!
"I took these photos, giddy with excitement about being able to finally weave outside in the sun. It pays never to get too optimistic about the weather here in Melbourne. For now, it's back to weaving in front of the fire".
Ally (@fibrebound) made her very own Sophie Scarf by @petiteknit using our Regia Yarns Premium Cashmere.
"There’s something so satisfying about a cosy knit—especially when it’s my Sophie scarf. Wore it to work today and it was the perfect blend of style and comfort".
Liza (@lizamoss) latest September project features our Rowan Norwegian Wool using the Norrun pattern by Arne & Carlos.
"The original pattern called for Rowan Felted Tweed but I was looking for a pattern to use the Rowan Norwegian Wool I had from your Christmas knitting event last November (I made an Arne & Carlos ball but I didn’t want to make the complete set of 24").
"I love the big scale of the stranded work and the colours are cheerful. Winter clothes can be a bit drab so an accessory like this brightens the mood. I am becoming a fan of cowls as I have lost my favourite scarf a few times and had to reknit it. A cowl stays on and can also be a way of featuring a favourite brooch. I thought the vintage brooch in my picture looked good but something fun from Erstwilder would add a bit of whimsy."
Jo (@dandrea.jo) knitted this gorgeous beenie 🐝 using our lovely Morris Estate 8 ply yarn and the Queen Bee Hat, by Sarah Sinclair 2021 pattern.
"Love the colour work as you create each row, it puts a smile on your face as the Bee comes to life 🐝 a really Fun knit".
@by.pocoapoco used 'Alpine stitches' and 'Romanian cord' to create her gorgous pouch. Plus our Avalon 4ply cotton yarns and a 3.00mm crochet hook for this project.
"I love the Alpine stitch. It is very simple but still gives a beautiful and sturdy texture. The Avalon yarns were very soft and easy to work with!🧶 (I used the same yarn for the animal bookmarks which was featured on your instagram🐰🩷. It's my favourite cotton yarn!). I don't have a written pattern but I filmed step-by-step video tutorial which is available on my newly opened Youtube channel!"
